Each COMP only has a limited amount of storage space, so about ten or so is the limit for a single COMP. It's only capable of handling two demons out at a time though. It could have been more, but keeping everything separate so that no unfortunate accidents occur was difficult enough.
Though personally I know how to summon... a great many. I did have a Garuda and a Behemoth before I came here. I'm rather fond of the Avian family of demons. Their racial ability allows me to get around much faster than even I can on my own.
... A Behemoth is like a very large hippo that sits upright. A Garuda is like a vaguely man-shaped bird. And Avian demons have the racial ability of Flight, which increases their summoner's speed.
Maybe, though it would be interesting to see if they could cross over worlds. They're not from the same one I am, though it's connected... so I was curious as to see if it would be easy enough to summon them here.
[Rin should be concerned. Maybe he should stop talking to the clearly insane gentleman with the cool-talking voice. Buuuut since this isn't a life-or-death situation ALL MUST BE WELL.]
The ones from my place are from another world, and one made it here last time.
Mm. Well, different worlds have different barriers, I imagine. Though since the barrier between the human and demon worlds is open, it should have been easy to summon them here... but I guess not.
[Naoya is no longer "insane". That almost sounds like an indirect compliment! Rin perks up a little more at this sudden but wonderful thing that is happening. And what is happening? Social links are being forged and pushed forward to the next level!]
Y'think so? ...Most people wouldn't bother sayin' that. But you're too cool to care about it!
Hm? Well, I have a lot of experience with demons. That, and my programming skills, are why I was tapped to create the Demon Summoning Program in the first place.
You talk like a seasoned, professional hit man! D'ya even know what people use your demon apps for?
[And if Naoya shaved his head, it would be a perfect transformation. Even with his programmed demon apps. Or websites. Or whatever computer people did.]
I do, actually. As long as they survive the initial demon attack, then most people used them to defend themselves from the demons invading Tokyo. Some used them against other people, but statistically most of them didn't.
[Demon attack on Tokyo... Normal people defending themselves... Technology.]
So you're ... it's like you're givin' 'em a way to protect themselves but they don't know about demons so in the end they don't know how to handle 'em.
It's not as if I left them defenseless. The first demon that appears from their COMPs is almost always a fairly weak one, and the Harmonizer inside of it puts them on the same physical level. It's not like it's hard to punch a Pixie or something like that into submission.
[...That's still exposing people to things they'd rather not see, especially since demons aren't always benign. -- Is what Rin would say but he doesn't know the word "benign" so...]
But now they're open for any kind of demon attack. It's not like some little kid would be able to defend himself. Not all of 'em know how to throw a punch.
No, that's true. But demons were going to be invading anyway, and I think that more people having a chance of surviving is better than no people having a chance of surviving, don't you?

A - what? Behemoth? Garuda? You move fast?

[Did he get all that? Rin tries to to think of the equivalent in his world, but comes up short.]
I've never heard or seen demons like that, but that's gotta be pretty intense.

And... they can be... but only if you don't know how to handle them.
Okay? Glad I don't have to worry about any of that. - Hey, none of your demons came through yesterday, right?

Okay? Why'd you make a demon summoning thing in the first place if - ... Your place never even had demons!

I'm a programmer.
